Richard J. Morrisroe

Biography

Richard Jonathan Morrisroe has practiced law in New York State for nearly 11 years. Richard is a real estate and trial attorney that focuses on real estate closings, evictions, criminal & traffic violation defense, and plaintiff's personal injury work. He is the former City Attorney for the City of Dunkirk and acts as general counsel for the Dunkirk Housing Authority. Originally from East Chicago, Indiana, he is of Irish-Puerto Rican heritage, speaks fluent Spanish, and has lived in Buffalo and now Dunkirk for over 25 years where he lives with his wife Iris, a Dominican-American school teacher originally from the Bronx, and his youngest son, Nicholas.

Prior to practicing law, Richard was a banker, a Spanish teacher, an executive director of a nonprofit housing agency, a realtor, a drug prevention specialist, and a legislative aide for the Buffalo Common Council. He graduated cum laude from Amherst College and the University at Buffalo Law School.
